A Space ship has landed

A mixed bag of weather and I haven't had much time to enjoy the garden at all today. But last night, about 10 o'clock I got a call from upstairs saying quick quick look outside, its amazing. So I dashed outside and saw what all the excited screams were for and there in front of me was the new 'Standing Stone' in all is glory being lit up by a single solar light I'd placed at the base earlier. It was quite spectacular and made it look like a space ship had just landed at the top of the garden. Quite extraordinary. In the garden we had a couple of pairs of Dunnocks here today. Their colouring is so drab compared to all the other garden birds, but I still think their beautiful in their own grey way. The Siskins on the other hand couldn't be brighter coloured, this time of year especially the males are virtually glowing. I spotted some bunny's in the field behind the garden today, didn't get a photo but hopefully they'll be back in the garden again soon. I do love watching the babies on the lawn eating in the evening. We are quite lacking in mammals in the garden at the moment which is a shame, I'll have to be more vigilant. No shortage of birds though and this Nuthatch is still busy taking lots of sunflower seeds away, hopefully to feed his nesting wife.
