As its such a special day with getting 10,000 hits, I thought it deserved two posts. Today the garden has been full of Siskins. I have never seen so many before at one time. I counted 9 at one point which is amazing. Watching them interact was fascinating as the males are very tolerant with each others but the females are very territorial especially when eating. I wonder if they will stay around for the spring? For the first time today I've been able to look back to see what was happening 12 months ago in the garden. And not surprisingly it was pretty much the same where the lambs are concerned but the Siskins didn't appear until the end of April last year. I'm going to find this looking back on the blog so interesting. Back to today though, we had a visit from a lovely little Coal tit and there were quite a few Dunnocks about too. The trees are full of Crows, making such a racket. I wish they would go away as they are here waiting for the lambs to be born and to do the horrid things crows do at this time of year. I hate it! On a nicer note the Nuthatches are out and about and so were the Jays and Woodpeckers but didn't manage a photo of them. Still no sign of a Cuckoo, 2 weeks too early still I think but the Sheep look on the verge of lambing at any moment. They've now appeared again in the front field and the rain has stopped.
