Mr & Mrs Woodpecker Visit

Its been quite a dull grey day here in Capel Curig today. Lots of drizzly showers and temperatures only reached about 6 degrees. The field in front of the house had flocks of meadow pipits filling their belly's from it today. Back in the garden, I was lucky enough to see two woodpeckers. The male who turned up the other day was enjoying the new square feeder I've just put up. Along with all the other birds who've been lining up to feed from it all day. The female woodpecker showed up much later and chose the old fashioned fat balls which she enjoyed so much last winter. I have to say she wasn't looking her best. Her white feathers where more yellowy brown and she looked in desperate need of a good prine.
Bernie popped by briefly. She does looks so gorgeous in that coat of hers. One of the Nuthatches is getting so tame. He barely moves when I put food out on the feeder now and he's there. The Sparrows are still here.

Before I go, I just want to say a BIG HELLO to everybody from AUTUMN WATCH. Its been great being involved this year and thank you all for your kind messages on the message boards.
