10 mile radius

Today we've had a visit from the black and white feral cat who appeared a few months ago. He's spent virtually the whole day beneath the feeder so I'm afraid there is not much to report. Soooooo.... I thought I would do something different on my entry today. I thought I would post some of my wildlife photographs that I've taken in the surrounding area. I've restricted myself to a 10 miles radius of the garden and some of the shots are a few years old but I thought it would be a nice way to show what else there is to see here in Capel Curig.Otters are one of my favourite mammals and it took me 3 weeks of going out every night to get this photograph. They come up the river Llugwy here in Capel Curig and can be seen in the lakes occasionally. I took this photo in Betws which is about 6 miles away. This Barn Owl used to live in an old barn in the woods about 2 minutes walk from my house. I've not seen any sign of Owls living there recently but we do have Owls calling from the trees in the garden most nights. This Polecat photo was taken in the Gwydyr Forest again only a few miles away. It was sort of cheating as the Polecat was actually visiting a friends garden for food and taking the photo was very easy.
This Sparrow Hawk was sat on a fence post when I took this photo. He didn't seem at all interested in flying away.
And this is the reason for the slightly different blog today! I absolutely adore cats but I also love to watch my birds. What shall I do? Lets hope she finds somewhere else to go tomorrow.
