The Blue Tits have been funny today. It all started a couple of years ago really when I was late putting some food out on the feeder. I was laying in bed and heard some tapping at the window. I got up and found a little Blue Tit tapping against the glass. Initially I thought he must just be pecking at the glass to get the fly's but after watching him for a while it really did look like he was trying to get my attention. Since then its become quite a regular occurrence and especially if I haven't put their favourite food out. Today was no exception with this little chappy spending ages staring at me through the glass.
The Niger Seeds haven't been as successful as I'd hoped. It took till this afternoon for just one of the tits to work out where the food came out and even then he only had a couple and flew away. I'll leave it out for now and maybe I'll be lucky and a passing Goldfinch will see it and move in for the winter. Mr Redfoot turned up in the rain and enjoyed some sunflower seeds. Even he didn't show any interest in the Niger Seeds!
We did have a new visitor today, this little female Siskin. It was literally a flash visit as she was gone as soon as I saw her. I was quite lucky to get the photo as I didn't even know what it was I'd photographed until I looked on the camera.
