Back to Being Busy
Now that we've finished all the drilling, the garden has gone back to its usual business. The feeder was especially busy with Siskins who fought hard to keep all the Niger Seeds to themselves. The Nuthatch was filling his beak to the brim before flying off so possibly he already has a mate sitting on eggs somewhere. The picnic table at the top of the garden was covered in bits over night. I don't know where they have come from. Maybe fallen from a tree or the birds have collected them, either way I can't see where they are from as it's all Larch Trees above the table. There are lots of slugs and snails about this evening. Luckily none have found my veggies growing in the front garden yet. I'm hoping the slate chippings surrounding the pots are putting them off. No sign of Mr No Tail for a couple of days now.

I know that angry bluetit sound!! I could hear it as I read your description! If I hear it and I'm in the kitchen, I'll just talk loudly (as though they can hear/understand me) 'yeah yeah, you can wait!'
ReplyDeleteBut one of the sweetest things is when any of them sing on the kitchen windowsill and it just makes me smile :-)
I feel it's their way of saying 'thank you'.
I have noticed though, that when it comes to sparrows, we're talking rows and dust ups and food getting thrown by angry females who aren't too happy their partner has decided not to return to the nest to mind the eggs (four nests around here at least!) and when he does, he sits outside looking in until the royal flypast that reminds him of his duty :-D
Can't wait to see this years youngsters flying around - it'll just be magical :-)
