Raining Hard

Male Siskin
Well I woke up this morning full of excitment, dashed to the window and saw............. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There was not a Sheep in sight, let alone any lovely little lammikins. The farmer must have moved them early this morning. It is raining very hard here and the river is rising so maybe the risk of flooding has something to do with it.Thank you for all your messages about the lambs. I think we may be one of the latest area's in the country to start lambing.
It feels like months since we've had such heavy rain. The poor birds were drenched feeding in the garden. I could only just recognise this fellow as a Siskin. Now this little bird had me baffled for a bit. Initially I thought 'Female Chaffinch' but something about it didn't look quite right compared to all the others in the garden. So I'm putting her down as a 'LBJ' as Bill Oddie calls them. 'A little brown Jobbie'
