Mr Blackbird loses his tail

Another scorching day here in the garden. Mr Blackbird appeared this morning minus his tail, close call with a cat maybe? He seems fine and it hasn't affected his ability to fly and collect food for his soon to be fledging chicks.

Phil the Pheasant turned up again today. He's spent the past few days up the top of the hill on the wall. Think he may have a mate up there as I heard two of them calling yesterday.

Found another new beetle today, called a Tortoise Beetle, what a cool name. Not a great photo but it only stayed for a few seconds but still its another one for the list.

Took this photo of a snail today. Not sure what the clear round balls are. Little too big to be her eggs I think. Maybe its a fungus or maybe the eggs of something slightly bigger? Hopefully someone will be able to tell me.
