Mr No Tail Update

I've just seen Mr No Tail. He was flying around and eating which is great. The feathers around the wound on his leg have dried now so I can't see the wound anymore. His leg however is still sticking out to one side. Where it should come straight down from his belly it goes 45 degrees to the side but he did look like he was using it to balance when he stood on the grass although it just dangled down when he was balancing on the branch. He's still here and fighting though which is amazing. The sheep wool had gone from the Nest Box hole and I noticed where there was a gap in the wood underneath, there is now moss coming through. So they have definitely made themselves a nice warm bed in there. They have been pulling away strips of wood from the inside too, you can just see it through the hole. Don't worry, I've been using a long lens to get these photo's of the nest box.Its so nice seeing all the birds pairing up. Its so strange why so many mimic the actions of a chick wanting food in order to attract a mate. They're flapping their wings and making some funny ol' noises. Siskin's are easy to tell apart with the male being bright yellowy green and the female being stripy. Blue Tits are slightly harder as the females are just slightly paler than the males. Great Tits are easier with the males having a much thicker black line down the front of their bodies and more black around the chin.
