I looked out the kitchen window today and couldn't get over the array of birds on the feeder. What really took me aback was how many non resident birds, well birds who shouldn't be in a mountain enviroment there were.
At one point today there was 3 x Goldfiches, lots of Chaffinches, Blue, Coal and Great Tits, 16 x Siskins, 1 x Reed Buntin, Black Bird, Nuthatch and to top it all of the Redpoll is still here.
Redpolls and Reed Buntin's, what is going on? I'm not complaining though. I'm happy to see the Goldfinch numbers increasing, its been ages since they've been here. I love the weird shape of their beaks, even stranger when they're open.
Fluff the fluffy Siskin was about again today, he's turning into quite a character.
